Knot Index

Knot Indexing

To Index a knot, first create its NAME using the Knotting Lexicon

Enter its name into the WIK using square brackets to auto create a page for this knot.

Calculate the knot's Overs Index and Saturation and register it into the relevant OI-X section.

Edit the Page for the knot called by its WIK name using the layout in the standard Knot Page template

The Wiki Index of Knots -- The WIK

This Index is intended to create unambiguous names for knots based on a Knotting Lexicon which will be developed alongside the WIK

Each knot will also be catalogued by its Overs Index allowing it to be numerically catalogued.

Each knot will be recorded by its WIK name, by its Overs Index, by all known AKA names (even when these clash with others or are ambiguous) and by its uses and safety issues.

If you know a common name for a knot and wish to find it, then use the search facility at the top of each page. If the knot has been indexed you should be able to find its WKI, its Overs Index and the knots own detailed page.

If you cannot find the knot you want, or you would like a particular knot to be included in the Index, then please use the IGKT 'Chit Chat' Forum to submit the knot for assessment and inclusion.

You can find the forum at http://www.igkt.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=news

It is hoped that at some point in the production of these Indexes, they will become --
